Grace Invites You!

Mission

We proclaim and celebrate the gospel of Jesus Christ, so that a community of believers is created, trained, nurtured and sent into mission.

Welcome Statement

 The stained-glass windows in our church display a beautiful collection of glass pieces, each one unique and important. The same is true for all of God’s children. As people of Grace Lutheran Church, our diversity makes us stronger and more resilient.

We strive to welcome all. We want to be a church where all are safe, all are welcome. Believers, non-believers, doubters, seekers and questioners: You are welcome here. Old and young. Able or disabled. People of all sexual orientations and gender identities: You are welcome here. Rich and poor. Black, brown and white: You are welcome here. Jeans and a t-shirt or a suit and tie. Addiction and mental health concerns: You are welcome here.

You are welcomed and valued here, because we are all pieces of stained glass, broken and beautiful in our own way.

As a church, we resolve to open our hearts, our minds, and our doors. We seek to reconcile ourselves to one another and to God, the master artist.

Core Values

 As Grace Lutheran Church, our passions for ministry are centered in…

Worship

  • Worship is a verb. We gather to worship the living God.
  • Worshiping is rooted in God’s Word, and is Gospel-centered.
  • Worshipers of all generations are full participants.
  • We come to worship with our whole selves, expecting that God meets us through the gifts of:
  • Prayer;
  • Preaching;
  • Sacraments of the Table and Font;
  • Music; and
  • Relationship, where we belong to God and to one another.
  • As we worship, we acknowledge our local and global community.
  • Our worship helps us experience:
  • Gratitude to God;
  • A challenge to grow and mature in Christ;
  • Comfort in the midst of pain or loss; and
  • Healing and reconciliation, in ourselves and in our relationships
  • In all of this, we are being shaped and taught to be a living expression of the crucified and risen Christ.

Community

  • We strive to embrace all people, inviting one another into the life of Christ to be renewed and re-formed by God and by one another.
  • We seek ways to be engaged in our neighborhoods, region and world in the name of Christ, for the sake of wholeness and justice in relationships.
  • We expect that people of all ages, abilities, ethnicities, education levels, socioeconomic statuses, gender identities, and sexual orientations, are shown:
  • Support;
  • Love;
  • Safety; and
  • Acceptance.
  • We teach and learn together - about the Scriptures and the joys and challenges of living the Christian life.
  • In all of this, we are being shaped and taught to be a living expression of the crucified and risen Christ.

Service

  • We give generously to better the lives of people around us, and to be part of God’s mission in the world.
  • We pursue long-term relationships with people and agencies outside the congregation.
  • We serve with vulnerability, keeping the well-being of the other as our primary focus.
  • We look to recognize how we are Christian servants in our daily lives and vocations.
  • In all of this, we are being shaped and taught to be a living expression of the crucified and risen Christ.
